I re-read Graham Greene's novels The Power and the Glory and The End of the Affair this summer. I probably read them the first time in my late 20s. Now as I'm approaching 40, I am blown away by the depth of human self-awareness and profound empathy Greene evokes in those stories.

Every time i try to reread, i get frustrated or bored with the text. Novelty is apparently important to my enjoyment.
I also find it difficult to re watch films but i can more easily than rereading books.
Terrance Malick’s _Tree of Life_ for example i find new insights in with each of my five or so reviewings.
